Johnston, employed at Springfield Memorial Hospital for more than 40 years, has worked with families in crisis in the burn and trauma units as well as Family Maternity Suites. She is known for recognizing situations where strong emotions may be elevated, and she creates an environment that deescalates potential conflict. She prioritizes protecting patient privacy and is an expert resource for HIPAA requirements.
