Ophthalmologist Michael V. Stock, MD, a specialist in cataract surgery, has joined the medical staff at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Stock, who practices with O’Fallon-based Ideal Eye Surgery, earned his medical degree from Washington University and completed an internship at Mercy Hospital St. Louis and a residency in ophthalmology at Washington University Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Refractive Surgery Alliance and American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Stock sees preoperative patients in clinic and performs procedures at TMH. Patients can be referred to Dr. Stock by their eye doctor or primary care physician.
“We are excited to welcome Dr. Stock to TMH,” said Emily Bailey, director of clinical operations at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. “Previously, patients who needed eye surgery would have to travel outside Taylorville to receive that care. Now, they can be treated close to home.”
“Eye surgery is an important milestone in a person’s life,” said Dr. Stock. “It’s rewarding to work with patients to discuss the best options for treatment. I look forward to helping Taylorville residents improve their vision and quality of life.”
