DMH Stroke Awareness Event Open to the Public

4/28/2023

May is National Stroke Awareness Month, and Decatur Memorial Hospital will host an educational session on stroke awareness for the public.

Oliver Dold, MD, will present “Fundamentals of Stroke Awareness” at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, in Classroom A at DMH. The presentation will cover stroke prevention, as well as signs, symptoms and the importance of timely treatment. A Q&A will follow.

“Stroke can happen to anyone, anywhere,” said Dr. Dold. “The CDC estimates that someone in the United States has a stroke every 40 seconds. That’s why it’s so important to know the signs and symptoms.”
