Durham, who is known for her problem-solving skills, has worked at Springfield Memorial Hospital for nearly 36 years. She’s a resource for those on the Surgery unit and a lifesaver for patients and colleagues alike.
“April is a hard worker and a colleague who lends a hand wherever is needed for great patient satisfaction,” wrote her nominator. “She always has a smile on her face through tough days, and powers through problem-solving to help reach a better outcome for all.”
Durham recently returned to Main OR after working for a time on another unit because she recognized the challenge of staff shortages and wanted to help. She also took on orthopedic resource responsibilities when she saw a need.
“April always approaches every patient, surgery, surgeon and situation with grace, patience and a smile on her face,” wrote her leader. “When times get stressful, she strives to be patient and dig to the root of the issue to find solutions.”
