Nelson is known for her nursing skills and instincts for patient care. She anticipates potential issues and goes out of her way to do what is required. A team player who is first to help a fellow nurse when needed, Nelson works long hours without complaining and with a caring and positive attitude.
Nelson was recently nominated for a DAISY award for nursing excellence from a patient who nominated her for following up with the doctor even after the patient was discharged.
“Jenny is one of those nurses who quietly goes about her job giving it her all,” wrote a supervisor. “She cares deeply about her patients. One of her longer-term patients has even taken the time to fill out multiple surveys detailing how wonderful she is.”
Nelson has worked for Memorial Health since 2015.
