Murphy earned his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1990. He completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Mary’s Health Center in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1993, and a fellowship in allergy and immunology at St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1995.

“I grew up in St. Louis and received all of my medical training there,” he said. “I am very passionate about practicing medicine in the Midwest, especially in Decatur and Macon County.”

Prior to his arrival in Decatur, Murphy was an adult and pediatric allergy, asthma and clinical immunologist with SSM Health in Oklahoma City, OK.
