The annual “Fit-Day” events offer opportunities for women in need of postsurgical garments, mastectomy bras and prosthetic breast forms to consult with certified custom-fitting specialists.
Breast cancer survivors and former clients of the mastectomy boutiques are also invited to attend the free event to mingle and enjoy refreshments and door prizes.
“Fit-Day” events will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, and Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Memorial Home Medical Supply, 644 N. Second St., Springfield; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at Memorial Home Medical Supply, 2875 N. Water St., Decatur.
“Women come in here not really knowing what to expect,” said Pat Dianora, a custom-fitting specialist with Memorial Health. “I explain the process and the products – it’s my job to take what often is a stressful time and make it a more pleasant situation. When my clients leave with a smile, I’ve done my job.”
Walk-ins are welcome to participate in the Fit-Day event. No appointment or preregistration is necessary.
“Our Fit-Days can be beautiful experiences for our clients and for survivors and we’re proud to provide these events,” said Sarah Frey, marketing specialist, Memorial Home Medical Supply in Springfield.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
