Merriman, of Bluffs, has worked at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital since 2005.

Merriman’s job responsibilities involve maintaining the boilers that warm the air and water within the hospital and aid in the sterilization process of medical instruments.

“Donnie takes his responsibilities very seriously and if there is a problem, he takes that even more seriously,” said Byron Pool, HVAC mechanic at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital, who nominated Merriman for recognition. “His fellow colleagues frequently ask him for assistance or for his opinion with different tasks and he’s always willing to help.”

Outside of work, Merriman enjoys spending time with family, which includes his fiancée.
