Patricia “Trisha” Koestler, a patient experience liaison, is the Decatur Memorial Hospital Colleague of the Month for May.

Koestler, of Mount Zion, recently helped a patient’s family member through a complex situation after the death of their loved one. “We’d not had this particular situation before at Decatur Memorial Hospital, and Trisha worked hard to find the solution – all while showing extreme compassion and sensitivity toward the family member,” said Kathy Fenton, a receptionist at the nonprofit hospital, who nominated Koestler for recognition.

Koestler has worked at Decatur Memorial Hospital since 2012.

Outside of work, she enjoys her responsibilities as a youth leader at Maranatha Church, baking, decorating cakes, attending auctions and spending time with her family, which includes her husband, 10 children, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
