Jeremy Holmes, patient experience liaison, is the Springfield Memorial Hospital Colleague of the Month for February.

Holmes, of Athens, is known for his masterful way of de-escalating tense situations, effectively shifting the conversation into an opportunity for strengthening relationships and understanding between patients and staff and among his Memorial Health co-workers, said Ginny Evans, director of hospitality at Springfield Memorial Hospital, who nominated Holmes for recognition.

Holmes approaches every patient room as an opportunity to do better, Evans said.

“Given how busy the Emergency Department has been, Jeremy has stepped in to facilitate just-in-time feedback so we can flip a negative experience to a positive experience in the moment,” said Evans.

Outside of work, Holmes enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife and two daughters; working on remodeling projects, playing cards and coaching his children’s recreational sports teams.
