The Springfield Memorial Foundation is accepting grant applications to fund projects that focus on patient care, research and education.

The foundation accepts applications from 501(c)(3) community-based organizations and educational institutions served by Memorial Health. The deadline to apply is March 1.

“Our goal is to improve access to quality health care for all residents of central Illinois,” said Melissa Hansen Schmadeke, the foundation’s executive director.

The foundation’s board of directors and staff as well as representatives from Springfield Memorial Hospital will review the applications. Applicants will be notified of funding status in May.
