SPRINGFIELD – Norby Tester of Nokomis, a registered nurse and research and data analyst, is the Springfield Memorial Hospital Colleague of the Month for October.

Tester accepted a position with the hospital’s decision sciences department after more than 40 years of bedside nursing in the emergency department, the intensive care unit and with the rapid response team at the nonprofit hospital.

Tester volunteered to return to a clinical setting when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, assisting her nurse co-workers in the ICU while continuing her analysis and documentation responsibilities.

When the Delta variant created new patient surges, Tester once again volunteered to assist the rapid response team.

Outside of work, Tester enjoys being with her family, which includes her husband, Larry, of 45 years, three children and six grandchildren. She also enjoys road trips, attending concerts and hosting get-togethers at her home.
