DECATUR – Meghan Roberts of Mt. Zion, a critical care nurse in Decatur Memorial Hospital’s Heart Center, is the nonprofit hospital’s Colleague of the Month for September.

“Being a nurse is what I’ve always wanted to be, and I’m very proud to be a nurse,” Roberts said. She’s been a nurse at Decatur Memorial Hospital since 2014.

Roberts has developed a reputation for great patient care. Her patients consider her a compassionate and efficient critical care nurse, who offers individualized care, which makes them feel like they are her only patient, hospital officials said.

Roberts plans to pursue her master’s degree in nursing. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in nursing from Richland Community College.
