The course introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact, overviews common treatments and teaches a 5-step action plan to help an individual in crisis connect with appropriate professional, peer, social and self-help care resources.

Preregistration is required to participate in the virtual training on May 18. To register to attend the virtual course, visit TaylorvilleMemorial.org/Foundation/Events/Mental-Health-First-Aid.

Up to eight CEUs are available for individuals completing a Mental Health First Aid training. The following professionals are eligible for CEUs: social workers, counselors, RNs, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, speech therapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, occupational therapist assistants and respiratory therapists.
