TAYLORVILLE – The Taylorville Memorial Hospital Foundation is accepting applications for the Dr. George Ferry Memorial Scholarship, awarded annually to two high school students who aspire to a healthcare career.
The recipients of each $2,500 scholarship must be seniors at Taylorville High School and plan to pursue an education in healthcare. The Dr. George Ferry Memorial Scholarships are provided in partnership with Dr. John and Susan Ferry, the late Elizabeth Ferry and Taylorville Memorial Hospital Foundation.
George Ferry, DDS, founded Mid-Illinois Dental Associates in 1949 and dedicated his life to the Taylorville community for more than 50 years. A charter member of the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Foundation, he served on the Building and Renovation Project Committee and was involved in the opening of the Bertrand Hopper Clinical Services expansion in 1995. Dr. Ferry also served on the Taylorville Memorial Hospital board of directors.
