A patient and her family made a special connection with Amanda Clevenger, BSN, RN, Three South, during a recent stay at Passavant Area Hospital. The family was so impressed with Clevenger they nominated her for the Daisy Award.

“I came into the hospital with a low blood count and I was nervous about the upcoming tests,” said the patient. “Amanda was so calming and sweet to me, my daughter and husband. On my last day in the hospital, she came in and gave me and my husband a big hug. We just love her and pray all nurses could be like her.”

Clevenger was selected as this quarter’s recipient of the Daisy Award. Passavant partners with the Daisy Foundation to give the award to a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse who consistently demonstrates excellence through clinical expertise and extraordinary, compassionate care.
