Kara Slating, a photographer with the Marketing and Communications department, is the Memorial Health System Resources 2025 Colleague of the Year. This award recognizes Slating's talent, professionalism and positivity in capturing the work of Memorial Health through expert photography.
Slating, who has served Memorial Health since 2014, was previously named Colleague of the Month for September 2025. She is appreciated for her ability to juggle multiple responsibilities while maintaining an upbeat and positive demeanor with colleagues and photography subjects alike.
"Kara puts all her effort into every project," wrote a colleague who nominated her for the award. "Her expertise is second-to-none, and she is a true ray of sunshine. Plus, her photography is effortlessly stunning."
Through the lens of her camera, Slating helps tell the stories of patients, staff and the organization's mission through documenting clinical care, community events and colleague achievements.
The Colleague of the Year award takes place at all seven of the Memorial Health affiliates. The winner is selected from 11 individuals previously named Colleague of the Month at each affiliate.
