Terry Scott, with Environmental Services at Decatur Memorial Hospital, is the nonprofit hospital’s Colleague of the Year for 2025.
Scott previously earned recognition as Colleague of the Month in June 2025 for his emphasis on patient care and workplace excellence.
In his role with Environmental Services, Scott distinguished himself through his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in the Emergency Department (ED). He ensures ED beds are turned over quickly and efficiently through meticulous cleaning practices while maintaining close communication with clinical staff and monitoring equipment needs in patient rooms.
"Terry does so much within the department – it is always a breath of fresh air to know he is working," his nominator wrote. "He is always bright, cheery and brings a good attitude to the workplace."
Scott joined Decatur Memorial Hospital in 2023 and has consistently demonstrated values of excellence, teamwork and service.
The Colleague of the Year is selected at each Memorial Health affiliate from 11 individuals previously named Colleague of the Month throughout 2025.
