Donor Support Makes Early Detection Possible through Jacksonville Memorial Hospital’s Mammogram Mondays Program

11/25/2025

Donor support to the Jacksonville Memorial Hospital Foundation enabled Jacksonville Memorial Hospital (JMH) to provide lifesaving breast cancer screenings for eligible women throughout the region during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

The hospital conducted a total of 418 mammograms with 15 free mammograms provided through the Mammogram Mondays program – fully funded by the Jacksonville Memorial Foundation and Mia Ware Foundation through generous donor support. These screenings provided access to essential care for uninsured and underinsured patients who otherwise may not have been able to afford it.

“Mammogram Mondays are one of the many impactful ways our Foundation donors make a difference,” said Kristin Jamison, director of the Jacksonville Memorial Foundation. “Their generosity ensures that every woman in the Jacksonville region has access to this essential screening, regardless of financial situation.”

Mammogram Mondays reflects JMH’s ongoing commitment to improving community health through preventive care. Hospital foundation funding in collaboration with the Mia Ware Foundation helps JMH offer free or reduced-cost mammograms for uninsured or underinsured women each year.

“Our partnership with the Mia Ware Foundation allows us to offer free screenings to those who qualify year-round, but we are especially proud of our effort to assist the community in gaining access to lifesaving screenings during Breast Cancer Awareness month,” said Kyla Whitehead, manager of medical imaging service at JMH.

The Jacksonville Memorial Foundation continues to welcome donations to sustain programs including Mammogram Mondays and expand access to preventive care for the entire community. To learn more or make a gift, visit: https://memorial.health\jmf.
