Ruel Calahi, a security officer at Taylorville Memorial Hospital, is the nonprofit hospital’s Colleague of the Month for September.

Ruel’s focus on safety is appreciated by colleagues and visitors alike. He is readily available and proactive about asking people if they need assistance. He maintains a calm presence and is known for his reliability.

“Ruel is an excellent security officer,” wrote one of his nominators. “He brings humor and kindness to his job and truly cares about keeping everyone safe.”

Calahi has worked for Taylorville Memorial Hospital since 2024.
