Taylorville Memorial Hospital will present a Back 2 School Health and Resource Fair for local residents, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Christian County YMCA, 900 McAdam Drive.
The event will also include a free community cookout at 11:30 courtesy of Dinner Seasoned with Love.
“Back-to-school time is a good opportunity for families to improve their health and well-being,” said Memorial Health Community Health coordinator Jay Boulanger. “This event will give families the resources they need to start the school year in a healthy way.”
Activities will include music, games, kids’ activities, a produce giveaway, plus prize giveaways, health and resource vendors and on-site school physicals and vaccinations or scheduling available for either.
No registration is necessary for the event, but families who receive school supplies from Operation Loaded Book Bag should RSVP to Suzy Traughber at 217-825-6824.
