Taylorville Memorial Hospital Releases Community Health Needs Assessment Report

12/3/2024

Taylorville Memorial Hospital has completed its community health needs assessment report and listed its three priorities online for the public to view. They are heart disease/stroke, mental health and access to primary care. Mental health was also singled out as a priority for all five hospitals in Memorial Health.

Taylorville Memorial Hospital will develop an implementation plan to address these priorities in fiscal year 2025 through 2027.

To complete the assessment, Taylorville Memorial Hospital collaborated with health and social service providers that represent vulnerable members of the community.

“No single hospital, agency or governmental body can be entirely responsible for the community’s health,” said Kim Bourne, president and CEO of Taylorville Memorial Hospital. “We encourage the public to view our local data findings and apply them to any local initiatives, grant applications or programming. Our community partners are vital to this effort, and we look forward to working together to address these critical health needs faced by many.”

Completing a community health needs assessment and report is required of nonprofit hospitals every three years as part of the Affordable Care Act of 2010.
