Jacksonville Memorial Hospital has completed its community health needs assessment report and listed four priorities online for the public to view. The priorities are cancer, healthy eating, heart disease and mental health. Mental health was also singled out as a system-wide priority for all five hospitals in Memorial Health.
JMH has developed an implementation plan to address these priorities in fiscal years 2025 through 2027.
To complete the needs assessment, Jacksonville Memorial Hospital collaborated with the Morgan County Health Department and other health and social service providers that represent vulnerable members of the community.
“No single hospital, agency or governmental body can be entirely responsible for the community’s health,” said Trevor Huffman, president and CEO of Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. “We encourage the public to view our local data findings and apply them to any local initiatives, grant applications or programming. Our community partners are vital to this effort, and we look forward to working together to address these critical health needs faced by many.”
Completing a community health needs assessment and report is required of nonprofit hospitals every three years as part of the Affordable Care Act of 2010.
