8/28/2023

Featuring experts in the fields of trauma, disaster planning and emergency medical treatment, the Mid-America Emergency Symposium will be held Friday, Sept. 8, at the Memorial Learning Center, 228 W. Miller St.

The symposium will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (CST) and is intended for emergency and disaster responders, emergency medical service personnel, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, respiratory therapists and physicians.

Participants can choose from many different breakout classes offered in seven sessions throughout the day, allowing them to tailor their training at the symposium to their needs. New this year is the opportunity to participate in one of three tissue lab sessions.

The cost is $85; the deadline to register is Sept. 1. The symposium is sponsored by Memorial Health, the Southern Illinois Trauma Center and Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
