Springfield Memorial Hospital Vice President and Chief Medical Officer

Akindele Adaramola, MD, MPH, SFHM, serves as vice president and chief medical officer for Springfield Memorial Hospital and is a member of the Memorial Health system and senior leadership teams. He provides oversight to physician strategy, engagement and alignment activities to achieve improved care quality and outcomes for the communities served by Memorial.

An adjunct faculty member at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Dr. Adaramola has been part of the SMH medical staff since 2012 and continues to practice as a hospitalist. He is a graduate of the University of Ibadan College of Medicine in Ibadan, Nigeria, completed his residency at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, South Carolina, and received a master’s degree in Healthcare Management and Policy from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Dr. Adaramola is a Certified Physician Executive through the American Association for Physician Leadership, a Senior Fellow of the Society for Hospital Medicine and is board certified in family medicine.
