April is National Donate Life Month, dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation. So far in 2026, DMH has had 12 organ donors. In 2025, DMH had 33 tissue donors. Of the 33 tissue donors, 533 tissues were recovered including heart valves, bone/tendons, veins and skin for burn victims. Over the past 10 years at DMH, there have been 293 tissue donors and 4,361 tissues recovered.

Each year, Memorial Health hospitals hold flag-raising ceremonies to honor donors and their families. Colleagues and the public are invited to join at the flagpole.
