Dr. Brandon Koser has been named chief medical officer at Decatur Memorial Hospital, effective Dec. 1.
Dr. Koser previously served as medical director of the DMH Emergency Department. He replaces Dr. Ted Clark, who was recently promoted to senior vice president and chief clinical officer at Memorial Health.
In addition to his role at Memorial, Dr. Koser is executive officer of the U.S. Army Reserve 804th Medical Brigade.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Virginia and master’s degrees in public health and business administration from Benedictine University. He graduated from Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine with a medical degree before completing a residency in emergency medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
“I’ve had the honor of working closely with Dr. Koser in recent years, and I believe he is a great choice to lead our medical staff,” said Dr. Clark. “He’s very familiar with Decatur and the important role DMH plays in the well-being of the entire region.”
“The medical staff here is a tremendous asset to DMH and our entire community,” Dr. Koser said. “I’m honored to continue working alongside so many talented, compassionate professionals in this new role.”
