The University of Illinois Extension is partnering with Taylorville Memorial Hospital to present a free cooking class called “Entertaining the Healthy Way: Creating Easy Nutritious Appetizers” from 5:30 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6.
The class will be held at the hospital and feature delicious and healthy appetizer recipes that participants will be able to practice during the event. Extension educator Lisa Peterson will also address how to make healthy substitutions for those with food allergies, high blood pressure or diabetes.
“Whether you're hosting a cozy family gathering or a lively holiday party, this class has everything you need to create delicious and healthy appetizers that will delight everyone,” Peterson said. “You'll get hands-on practice making holiday appetizers, taste testing and take home some recipes.”
The class is offered free of charge and parking is available behind the hospital in Lot 4. Register online at https://registration.extension.illinois.edu/start/entertaining-the-healthy-way-creating-easy-nutritious-appetizers-christian-county.
