Memorial Cancer Care in Decatur and SIU Dermatology will partner to offer a free community skin cancer screening event from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, at Memorial Cancer Care, 210 W. McKinley Ave., in Decatur.
Screenings will be conducted by the dermatology team from SIU Medicine and are open to residents of Macon, Sangamon, Shelby, Piatt, Christian, Moultrie, DeWitt and Logan counties. Preregistration and a short consent form are required to participate in the screening. Participants should not currently be under the care of a dermatologist.
“Diagnosing a precancerous condition at an early stage is important,” said Mohammad Torabi, MD, a surgeon with Memorial Specialty Care. “We are pleased to partner with dermatologists from SIU Medicine to provide these screenings free of charge to members of our community.”
