Jake Simonton, a mechanic and locksmith with plant operations at Taylorville Memorial Hospital, is the nonprofit hospital’s Colleague of the Month for June.
Simonton prioritizes safety when it comes to facility maintenance. He ensures all safety protocols are followed. When installing new equipment, he conducts thorough risk assessments, adheres to safety regulations and communicates results with management. He is also highly detail oriented.
“Jake consistently demonstrates exceptional responsiveness and problem-solving abilities whenever our department requires attention,” wrote one of several nominators. “For larger projects, he proactively seeks clarification and contributes innovative ideas that enhance the quality of the final product. Additionally, Jake's positive attitude and friendly interactions with our team and patients are greatly valued.”
Simonton has worked for Taylorville Memorial Hospital since 2022.
