Patriot Award Recognizes Outstanding Support from Memorial Health for National Guard and Reserve Members

6/5/2025

Anne Murphy, manager in the Clinical Informatics Department at Memorial Health (MH), received a Patriot Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, an office established in 1972 under the Department of Defense.

The award is given to a supervisor or manager who makes a special effort to support a working National Guard or Reserve member with flexible scheduling, time off before and after deployment, care for families, and if necessary, leaves of absence.

Tamera Norton, a clinical informatics consultant at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital, nominated Murphy and appreciates not only her willingness to be flexible with her schedule as an active military member but also her support in other aspects of her role.

“Anne has provided a flexible environment that has allowed me not only to improve my professional and civilian career, but she has also allowed me to better focus on my work-life balance,” Norton wrote in her nomination. “The Clinical Informatics team is also an example of the values that represent a true team and commitment to those they serve.”

Norton has served in the Army National Guard for 20 years as an E-5 Sergeant and combat medic.
