Corrie Taylor-Welch, an RN IV on the adult psychiatric unit at Springfield Memorial Hospital, is the nonprofit hospital’s Colleague of the Month for April.
Taylor-Welch is often nominated for DAISY awards for nursing excellence by patients and colleagues for the level of quality care she provides patients who are experiencing stressful situations. She was a part of the Behavioral Response Team trial and worked closely with the medical surgery units to provide top-quality care to patients with behavioral health needs.
“Corrie’s ability to connect with our most challenging patients is uncanny,” wrote her nominator. “She takes on extra tasks without question. She is always willing to help out in non-traditional roles such as providing group and recreational therapy to our patients. She works as a technician when we need one. Corrie is an integral part of our team.”
Taylor-Welch has worked for Springfield Memorial Hospital since 2010.
