Matthew Griffith, RN, is the Springfield Memorial Hospital Colleague of the Month for June.
Griffith is known for his dedication, expertise and especially his contributions to the training and development of new nurses on his 3E unit. His structured approach focuses on building a foundation of basic principles and skills before increasing training intensity.
“In the midst of a significant influx of new nurses, Matthew emerged as a beacon of guidance and support, consistently dedicating himself to the task of training new team members with diligence, patience and kindness,” wrote his nominator. “Rather than simply providing answers, he encourages his trainees to think critically by asking probing questions and guiding them through the process of finding solutions on their own.”
Griffith has worked for Springfield Memorial Hospital since 2020.
