US News Gives High Marks to Memorial Medical, Decatur Memorial

Two Memorial Health System hospitals have been recognized in the 2021-22 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings.

Memorial Medical Center in Springfield was recognized as a Best Regional Hospital for West Central Illinois and one of the top hospitals in the state. U.S. News evaluated 208 hospitals in Illinois with the nonprofit hospital coming in at 19th in Illinois, placing it in the top 10% of all evaluated hospitals.

Decatur Memorial Hospital was ranked as “high performing” for four areas of treatment. They are chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), hip replacement, kidney failure and stroke.

Memorial Medical was also called out as “high performing” for seven areas of treatment. They are colon cancer surgery, COPD, heart attack, hip replacement, kidney failure, knee replacement and lung cancer surgery.
