9/29/2020

Jane Clements, Food Service, not only helps make sure hospital patients are fed, but she also helps feed her department with encouragement and teamwork for her fellow colleagues.

Clements was recently recognized as the August Colleague of the Month. “Jane is one of the nicest and most compassionate persons I’ve ever met,” said the colleague who nominated her for the award. “She is patient, kind and communicates well with nursing colleagues and patients. I’ve seen her go above and beyond to make sure the patients have the food they need and want.”

Her respect doesn’t stop with patients as Clements has started an “appreciation box” for her department to highlight the good deeds of her colleagues in Food Service. “My department works so well together,” said Clements. “I enjoy the teamwork.”

As a diet clerk in Food Service, Clements is responsible for coordinating patient menus and ensuring patients receive the correct type and amount of food.

Clements and her husband, Tony, live in Hillview. Her interests include volunteering at church, spending time with family and homeschooling her children.

The Colleague of the Month at Passavant receives eight hours off with pay, a special plaque and pin, a close parking space for one month in the physicians’ parking garage and a decorated cake.
