Serious illness is defined as any health condition that negatively impacts a person’s daily function or excessively strains the caregiver. Receiving the right care at the right time for those living with and caring for those with serious illness can make all the difference in their quality of life. We will provide the basics of palliative care versus hospice care, explain who is eligible for these services and how these services improve quality of life for both the patient and their families.
